Two All-New V8s
The available 5.7L V8 produces 402 horsepower, while the available 6.6L V8 reaches 481 horsepower and 501 lb.-ft. of torque.
The next-generation Sierra 1500 advances GMC's full-size pickup with two all-new available V8 engines, a redesigned cabin, expanded digital technology, new off-road hardware and the premium detail that continues to separate Sierra from the ordinary.
GMC's 2027 Sierra 1500 is more than a styling update. The truck arrives with a reworked powertrain lineup, a redesigned interior and a broader set of available driver-assistance, camera and off-road technologies. For truck shoppers comparing capability, comfort and premium equipment, these are the updates that stand out most.
The available 5.7L V8 produces 402 horsepower, while the available 6.6L V8 reaches 481 horsepower and 501 lb.-ft. of torque.
Available combined digital display area exceeds 60 inches, giving Sierra a substantially more connected and configurable cockpit.
When properly equipped, the 5.7L V8 can deliver up to 13,500 pounds of maximum towing capability.
AT4X adds 35-inch mud-terrain tires, Multimatic DSSV and new Jounce Control dampers, locking differentials and Baja Drive Mode.

The 2027 GMC Sierra 1500 uses a more precise hood surface, trim-specific grille treatments and a range of wheel designs to give each version a distinct personality, from work-ready Pro to luxury-focused Denali models.
The enhanced MultiPro Tailgate remains one of Sierra's most useful everyday features. On Elevation, AT4, AT4X, Denali and Denali Ultimate, the updated design adds a new applique and four additional built-in tie-downs, bringing the total to 16.
Wheel availability stretches from 17-inch designs on Pro to available 22-inch wheels on Denali Ultimate, giving shoppers a meaningful range of work-focused and premium appearances.

Inside, Sierra's redesign emphasizes screens, storage and trim-specific materials. GMC says the truck offers more than 60 inches of combined available digital displays. A 16.3-inch Premium GMC Infotainment System is standard on Pro, while select upper trims add a 15-inch Head-Up Display and an 11.5-inch front-passenger display.
The available Sierra-first MultiPro Center Console integrates additional storage into a more upscale center-console design. A Sierra-first panoramic sunroof with open, tilt and power sunshade is available on Elevation and AT4 and standard on AT4X, Denali and Denali Ultimate.
Premium trims add distinctive materials, heated and ventilated seating and available audio upgrades. AT4X and Denali Ultimate offer a 16-speaker Bose Premium Series system with front head-restraint speakers. Available Super Cruise can also support compatible-road driving while trailering.
The biggest mechanical story for the next-generation Sierra is its expanded engine lineup. GMC offers four distinct powertrains so shoppers can prioritize standard torque, V8 capability, maximum naturally aspirated V8 output or diesel torque and long-distance efficiency without treating one formula as the answer for every owner.
The new 5.7L and 6.6L V8 engines use updates including a new throttle body, a new dual fuel-injection system, modified compression ratio and increased displacement. The 5.7L V8 is rated at 402 horsepower and 428 lb.-ft. of torque and can support up to 13,500 pounds of max towing when properly equipped. The 6.6L V8 is rated at 481 horsepower and 501 lb.-ft. of torque, making it the highest-output naturally aspirated V8 offered in Sierra 1500.

The available Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel combines 305 horsepower with 495 lb.-ft. of torque. GMC lists up to 12,100 pounds of available maximum towing capability. With the available 34-gallon fuel tank, GMC also estimates more than 900 miles of highway driving range on a full tank under specified conditions.

The enhanced TurboMax engine delivers 350 horsepower and 455 lb.-ft. of torque. Its torque-focused character gives Sierra a strong base powertrain for drivers who want useful low-end response without stepping into a V8 or diesel configuration. GMC pairs TurboMax with a 10-speed automatic transmission on the next-generation Sierra.

Properly equipped, the 2027 Sierra 1500 can tow up to 13,500 pounds with the available 5.7L V8. The Duramax 3.0L Turbo-Diesel is rated for up to 12,100 pounds of available max towing. Exact towing capacity depends on cab, bed, drivetrain, axle, equipment and cargo, so shoppers should compare the specific configuration they plan to use.
Available trailering technology is designed to make that capability easier to manage. Sierra offers up to 19 available camera views, including available front and rear underbody cameras. Super Cruise is also available with trailering capability on compatible roads, giving properly equipped Sierra models another technology advantage for long highway trips.
GMC continues to give off-road shoppers two distinct Sierra choices. AT4 combines a factory lift and all-terrain capability with a premium interior, while AT4X pushes the hardware farther for more demanding terrain.
AT4X receives new off-road-capable 35-inch mud-terrain tires designed for additional traction and obstacle clearance.
Multimatic DSSV dampers are joined by new Jounce Control Dampers that help manage larger impacts and rough landings.
AT4X uses front and rear electronic locking differentials to help maximize traction when the trail gets difficult.
The AT4X-exclusive Baja mode is designed for off-road driving on hard-packed sand, dirt and gravel.
